The profile of the employees of Micro2Gen is interdisciplinary and the team consists of engineers, computer scientists and medical doctors.

The executives of the company are the following:

  1. Dr. Spyros BLIONAS is the founder of micro2gen. Previously he was Project Leader in the Microelectronics Group of INTRACOM where he carried out, among other areas, research in the fields of Systems on a chip and VLSI for wireless communications and biotechnology applications. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Patras on VLSI for digital signal processing (1990), Ms.Sc. degree from the University of Athens in Telecommunication Electronics (1986), and a Diploma degree in Physics from the University of Athens (specialisation in Electronics-1983). His areas of interest are VLSI design of systems on a chip for wireless communication and biotechnology applications
  2. Dr. Thanos DEMIRIS is R&D Director and co-founder of the company. He received his Diploma and Ph.D. in Medical Informatics with a focus in Image Analysis and Visualization from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. In the past he has worked at the German Cancer Research Centre, as invited lecturer for the University of Heidelberg, the Aegean University, the University of Athens, the Athens Information Technology Institute and the Technical Chamber of Greece. Prior to his current employment he has been seven years with INTRACOM S.A. as a senior researcher and pre-sales engineer and later European Dynamics S.A. as a business manager. He has published over 50 papers in journals and reviewed conferences, organized workshops and conferences and serves as reviewer for scientific journals and conferences.
